Shave Excision

Equipment Needed:

• Alcohol pads

• Local anesthetic supplies

• Razor blade or equivalent

• Forceps

• AlCl

• Cotton-tipped applicators

• 2x2 gauze

• Antibiotic ointment

• Bandage

Procedure:

• Identify skin lesion to be excised

• Determine orientation to Skin Lines

• Prep with Alcohol

• Administer Local Anesthesia

• Spread Skin

• Bend Razor

• Remove Lesion

• Obtain Hemostasis

• Dress Wound

• Give Discharge Instructions

• Send Tissue to Pathology
