Further Adjustments

Make sure the Gomco clamp is taking more dorsal foreskin than ventral foreskin to get a good cosmetic result. Figure 1 below shows less ventral skin above the base plate compared to dorsal skin.

In this image: Figure 1. This photo shows less ventral skin above the base plate compared to dorsal skin.

Look at the penile shaft skin lines, which run perpendicular to the shaft, to verify this. See Figure 2 below.

In this image: Figure 2. Look at the penile shaft skin lines, which run perpendicular to the shaft, to verify that the Gomco clamp is taking more dorsal foreskin than ventral foreskin.

If there is excessive ventral skin above the bevel hole, then the ventral skin will need to be pulled firmly downward as shown, using a gauze sponge for better traction. See Figure 3 below.

In this image: Figure 3. If there is excessive ventral skin above the bevel hole, then the ventral skin will need to be pulled firmly downward.

Remember to check the skin lines to assess the proper angle of the clamp on the penis. See Figure 2 above.

All adjustments should be complete now and the Gomco clamp in proper position for the next step, which is excision of the prepuce. See Figure 4 below.
