Good Fats

Previous | Next

The "good" healthy fats mentioned above are unsaturated fats including monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. While there is some argument about recommended daily allowances, most sources report goals of 3-9 servings per day (click here to view serving sizes) or 10-25% of daily calories from monounsaturated fats and 8-10% of calories from polyunsaturated fats. It is cumbersome to calculate percentages of calories; therefore a good starting point is focusing on replacing "bad" fats with unsaturated fats.
