Talar Tilt Test

Previous | Next

The Talar Tilt Test assesses for both ATF ligament and Calcaneofibular (CF) ligament stability. With the foot slightly plantar-flexed, brace heel and invert foot. Repeat on opposite side to compare degrees of inversion. Inversion of more than 23 degrees or more than a five degree difference compared to the opposite ankle is a positive test and indicative of an ATF ligament and CF ligament injury.
