Apple Cider Vinegar

Benefit:

  • May improve GERD symptoms and dyspepsia

Mechanism of Action:

  • One theory is that GERD is caused from a deficiency in stomach acid. Apple cider vinegar (ACV) mimics the normal gastric acid level to promote digestion and thus treat GERD and dyspepsia symptoms

  • Detoxifies and purifies various organs in the body, breaking down fatty, mucous, and phlegm deposits within the body and improving the health and function of kidneys, bladder, and liver

  • May have psychosomatic effects in some patients

Side Effects:

  • May worsen GERD and dyspepsia symptoms

Available Forms:

  • Unfiltered, organic ACV is the preferred form, known as "mother of vinegar"

  • One to two teaspoons prior to each meal three times daily
