Nutella Cupcakes with Nutella Buttercream Frosting

What you need:

Cupcakes:

    • 1/2 cup cocoa
    • 1 cup hot water
    • 1 cup buttermilk
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    • 2 1/2 cups flour
    • 2 tsp. baking powder
    • 1 tsp. baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1/2 cup heavy cream
    • 1/2 cup Nutella, melted

Frosting:

    • 1/2 cup butter, softened (1 stick)
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 1 packet Dream Whip
    • 1/3 cup Nutella
    • 3 Tbsp. milk
    • 2 to 3 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

    1. For Cupcakes: Place cocoa in a bowl or stand mixer. Pour hot water over the top and mix.
    2. Add buttermilk and mix. Then add sugar and mix.
    3. Mix in eggs, oil, and vanilla.
    4. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    5. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix.
    6. Stir in heavy cream and Nutella.
    7. Divide into lined muffin/cupcake pan.
    8. Bake at 350* for 18 to 22 minutes. Cool for at least 30 minutes.
    9. For Frosting: Cream together butter, salt and vanilla until light and fluffy.
    10. Add Dream Whip on low.
    11. Then beat in Nutella, powdered sugar, and milk - I used all 3 cups and all 3 Tbsp. Use to your desired consistency!
    12. Frost cooled cupcakes and refrigerate until time to serve.
