Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread

What you need:

    • 2 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 2 oz. unsalted butter
    • 1/3 cup whole milk
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 2 large eggs, at room temp
    • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 tsp. cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    • 2 oz. unsalted butter, melted until browned

Directions:

    1. Whisk together 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
    2. In a separate bowl, beat eggs.
    3. In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter, until butter has melted. Remove from heat and add water and vanilla extract.
    4. Let milk mixture stand for about 2 minutes. Mix into dry ingredients.
    5. Then add eggs and mix until they are incorporated.
    6. Add remaining flour (3/4 cup) and mix for another 2 minutes. Dough will be sticky.
    7. In a greased bowl, let dough rise until doubled, about an hour. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a clean dish towel.
    8. When the dough is almost doubled, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg for filling.
    9. Melt/brown butter.
    10. Punch down dough and knead with 2 tbsp. flour. Cover with clean dish towel and let rise for 5 minutes.
    11. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12x20-inch rectangle.
    12. Brush rectangle with browned butter and sprinkle with cinnamon mixture.
    13. Slice dough vertically with a pizza cutter into six strips.
    14. Stack on top of one another and slice into six equal slices.
    15. Layer the stacks in a greased 9x5x3-inch pan. Cover with a clean dish towel and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes.
    16. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in a preheated 350* oven.
    17. Let rest for 20 to 30 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate. You'll want the caramelized sugar from the bottom to be on top!
