Easy Calzones
What you need:
- Frozen bread dough
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1 egg, beaten
- Marinara sauce
Directions:
- Thaw your bread dough - this can take a few hours to do.
- Cook onions in butter over medium-high heat. Add sausage and brown. Add Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. Drain if necessary and let cool.
- Mix together cheeses, 2 eggs, salt, pepper, and parsley. Then stir in cooled sausage.
- Separate dough into four pieces or so and roll out into very thin circles.
- Spoon in filling and fold the dough over itself in half. Crimp with fork and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg and bake at 400* for 10 to 13 minutes. Serve with marinara.
