Shirim Ivri'im

In the Spring of 2010 Yaakov Lozowick spent a few weeks focusing on Shirim Ivri'im, Israeli songs. Israeli culture, compered to Jewish culture, is a brand new sapling next to an ancient oak. Yet for all its short history, its got depth, and profound moments and traits. The music Israelis create for themselves is one of the most important - and unnoticed - components. So on March 31st 2010 he set out to give a very brief introduction to the subject, including recordings, lyrics, translations, and some commentary. The series went on for more than a month, and can be followed by using theShirim Ivri'im label of his blog. Here is were it starts.

The collection contains more than 6,000 pictures (at least 500 per CD), each with a resolution of at least 1600x1200 pixels. This resolution means that images look crisp and clear, and are perfect for use with a monitor, projector, or printer (see some high-resolution samples). All images are included in jpg format. The pictures can be easily edited or printed in a graphics program, inserted into a MS PowerPoint slide show, used as desktop wallpaper, etc. In addition, all of the photos are included in pre-made PowerPoint files for each region in a logical "tour" order. The Pictorial Library of Bible Lands includes extensive descriptive explanations. The annotations are the result of many years of research and writing, totaling more than 700 pages (see more about the annotations).
