Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Ingredients

10 oz marchino cherries drained (I don't use this)

1/2 C brown sugar

1 C walnuts or almonds

1 T cinnamon

Mix together and set aside:

4 C flour

1 tsp salt

1 1/2 baking powder

1 tsp soda

Cream thouroughly

1 C butter

1 tsp vanilla

2 C sugar

1 pint sour cream

Procedure

Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternating with 6 eggs. Beat and scrape bowl.

Generously grease and flour 9 inch tube pan. Pour 1/3 of batter into pan and top with 1/3 nut mixture. Repeat 2nd and 3rd times.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Check with a toothpick

I use 2/3 can of almond paste in the nut mixture save the 1/3 to make a powder sugar glaze to frost.
