Mary Lous' Fork Cookies

1 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Soda
1 tsp Cream of Tartar
1 Cup Nuts
1 tsp Salt
4 C Flour
2 T milk (small amount more to make dough stick together)
Procedure
Procedure
Roll into walnut size balls and place on greased pan. Dip fork in water and press on top of cookies. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

This recipe is from a long time Chanticleer Trail dear neighbor Mary Lou Braun. She passed away Feb 2017 of dementia. Mr. Braun worked for the State police and survived 11 heart attacks and outlived his wife. They have two children Mike and Kris. Many of the Lincolnhol children will remember their German Shepard Heidi.
