Grits

Ingredients

4 parts water to 1 part grits

butter to taste

salt and pepper to taste

Options to add:

grated cheese

cooked bacon

Andouille sausage

Procedure

Bring water and butter to a boil. Add the grits. Bring back to a boil, then back to a simmer, or slight boil. Cook about a half hour or so until creamy. It is best to let them sit for 15-30 minutes before eating. Add cheese and melt in for cheesy grits. Use any cheese that you want. Dot likes hers with cheese , bacon and Andouille sausage.
