Spaghetti Pie

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Mozzarella shredded 1/2 cup chopped onion

8 oz. Spaghetti 1/4 cups green pepper chopped

2 T. butter 1 15oz. can diced tomatoes

1/3 cup grated parmesan 1 6 oz. Tomato paste

2 well beaten eggs 1 tsp. sugar

1 cup cottage cheese 1 tsp. dried oregano

1# ground beef 1 tsp. dried basil

1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. pepper

Procedure

Slightly cool spaghetti and drain, add butter, parmesan, eggs. form the spaghetti mixture into a crust in a buttered 10 inch pie pan.

Spread cottage cheese on top of the crust ( you can add chives or parsley to cottage cheese mixture.)

Brown the meat, onion and pepper, drain off fat. Stir in the undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar and spice . Heat ofr 15 minutes

Put the meat mixture on the cottage cheese. Bake covered tight in foil for

40 to 45 minutes at 350. then sprinkle with the cheese and bake until the cheese melts and sl. brown... Let stand 15 minutes

Can be made the day before and refrigerate.....I have always done this. for the spices we use Roma Baker spices a local italian bakery item. what it might have extra is garlic!! so you might want to add garlic to the sauce..
