Wheat Bread

Ingredients

2 1/2 tsp instant yeast

1 1/3 C warm water.

1/4 C vegetable oil

1/4 C maple syrup or another sweetener

3 1/2 C whole wheat flour

1/4 C nonfat powdered milk

1 1/4 tsp salt

Procedure

  1. Mix warm water and yeast and let yeast dissolve.
  2. Add all other ingredients and then knead dough for 8 minutes using oil and flour alternatively while kneading.
  3. Let rise in a warm place for about an hour until doubled.
  4. Shape into a loaf and place in a greased bread pan.
  5. Let rise for another 30-45 minutes until bread is a good height to bake.
  6. Bake at 350 for 30 - 35 minutes until it thumps hollow. If bread is getting too brown on top tent the bread with foil.

Special Notes

Makes one loaf - -can be doubled for 2 loaves
