Cranberry Sorbet

Ingredients

4 cups cranberries

4 cups water

2 1/2 cups sugar

Lemon juice to add after cooking

Procedure

Cook berries and water and run through a food mill or sieve, discarding the skins. While hot add 2 1/2 cups sugar (you may want to use less sugar. I double the recipe and used 4 cups sugar). Freeze until almost solid. Take and whip with electric mixer. Do this once or twice again.

Special Notes

This is how the recipe came from Mary Carrington's, Grandma Lonsbury. Mary brought this to our family Thanksgiving and it was a big hit. I checked the internet and some of the recipes have lemon juice added and that is good too about 1/4th cup.... You can use a food processor or blender. Patsy Lincolnhol
