Buttery Shortbread Pastry Dough

Ingredients

2 cups flour

14 T butter chilled and cut into small pieces

1 large egg lightly beaten

2 tsp granulated sugar

1T heavy cream chilled

2 tsp fresh lemon juice

1 tsp salt

Procedure

  1. In a food processor, combine the flour, butter, egg, sugar, cream, lemon juice, and salt and pulse until the dough starts gathering together in big clumps.
  2. Turn dough out onto a counter and gather it together. Shape the dough as directed in the berry dessert recipe or recipe of your choice.

(Makes enough dough for one single piecrust, 8 mini tarts or 12 turnovers)
