Sol 12.

Busy night yesterday, I went to the observatory to continue the spectroscopy experiment. We took a lot of measurements with different exposure times for Capella and Arcturus, but after two hours, the clouds started to be stronger and the results were inconclusive. So we gave up, and decided to wake up at 5:30 to test it on the moon.

Luckily, early in the morning, the sky was clear! So we took as many measurements as we could until the sun rose. We had the chance to see the sky turn orange and blue with the desert in the foreground. Beautiful experience. But tiring also…

After this lack of sleep, we came out late for the EVA. We used the ATV today, so that we could go far from the Hab to test Bertrand’s Antenna. Beautiful scenery, and some road are escarped. To make a different test, the ones who were in the Hab played music through the radio, it was funny and distracted us when we were waiting for Bertrand. He wanted to drive until he didn’t hear the Hab. After, he tested again his antenna to see if it worked better than the radio we have.

Good dinner, without peanut butter. Or maybe they hid it and didn’t tell us… Yesterday Arthur and Greg were talking about making a pound cake and they said: “As we do not have a lot of eggs, we can replace them with some peanut butter”. They are really addicted!

This afternoon, I tried to rest, because we certainly will go out to observe again this night, if the sky is clear.
