Purpose:
Excursion to the east valley where we have not reached yet to collect data.
Narrative:
We are getting used to preparing EVA equipments so we exited airlock before 11:00 which we scheduled. The first half of the road was quite stable. The latter half was not bad but a little bit of bumps so we drove the road carefully. The point where we got off the ATVs was relatively flat and seems it had fluid flows sometimes. We started to hike around and reached an edge of a valley with a depth of about 20-30 meters. There is no fluid flow at the bottom of the valley however the landscape tells us that once some sort of fluid flew on the interesting surface of Mars created in its long history. We had a rest on a rock and enjoy the view again remembering our life on the earth. The weather was entirely fine with a bit of clouds during the excursion so our drive back to the MDRS base was also good to enjoy the Mars' atmosphere.
