We are now just about a week into our expedition, and things have really settled down. Outside of

research, the daily routine has been established and very little needs to be said for things to be

done. Not that little is said, here – some of these nutters won’t shut up! The dynamics are healthy

within the group and with mission support. We are all in good humour. Everyone is getting on nicely

with their research, and it looks like we’ll be getting a decent amount done while here. We are all

motivated and invigorating the drive in one another. The only real stressors we all face are the

strict data upload/download restrictions and, of course, time.

Tonight, post-CapCom, we have some outreach to do (answering Mars-related questions with a video

package for the Open University) and then a mediation session (soon, hopefully, with a range of head-

mounted EEG scanners). Tomorrow morning, some of us are going to get up early to catch the ISS going

over – a great view with this high-altitude desert night sky. I wonder how long until there will be

the equivalent orbiting Mars.

Crew Physical Health:

Susan just has some aches and pains, after her ATV accident yesterday.

She seems to be on good form. We've kept an eye on her. Vibha's ankle

is fine, but she has some minor bruising on the lower back caused by

the analogue suit backpack. Everyone else is well.
