Purpose:

-Location scouting for EVA rescue operations

-Hand Signal protocol practice and photos for paper/protocol development

Narrative:

Humberto lead the EVA out to revisit locations from the rescue operations conducted last year. In doing so, we identified areas closer to the road that met the qualifications for our tests, and omitted areas with more hazards (i.e. better rattlesnake habitat).

In doing so, we discovered a small pool of water, and a great site for our tests. We returned to the habitat after marking the sites and continued with hand signal photography for our reports. No injuries, all ATVs operated in great condition except ATV 1, which seems to have a difficult time starting.

Found water pond in this location. Looks like the area was under water before

Waypoint Four Finding:

This area looks like was under water several years ago and now dried up. We found couple of streaks of alge , might be an interesting area for astrobiology research. This place has a terrains of all levels.
