Is Google AdSense Worth It For Bloggers?
One of the most common ways in which bloggers monetize their content is through putting ads on their site, and one of the most popular networks to use it AdSense.
But is this network really worth it if you're a blogger, publisher, or content creator in general?
Here's my thoughts:
Google AdSense is a great platform for brand new bloggers who're just starting out & don't have much traffic on their site.
Because AdSense has lower entry requirements i.e. compared to other ad networks, which allows you to monetize your content even from day 1.
Because other networks requires a certain number of monthly visitors like 10k or 25k or 50k etc. before they agree to put ads on your site.
(This number varies depending on the network)
And truly speaking, it takes longer to get to that point – since SEO takes time.
So for brand new bloggers, maybe AdSense might just be a great platform to start with.
However, the only caveat of this network is that, it pays pennies for your traffic.🤦♂️
Even though it has some low barriers of entry, it pays very little for your traffic, which makes it difficult for you to make significant amounts from your blog.
So the key🔑 is to use AdSense for the first few months – but once your blog starts getting some decent traffic, you should probably switch to other better networks like Ezoic, Mediavine, AdThrive, etc. since these tends to pay higher CPMs.
That way, you can be able to earn more for your traffic.
You can also try to apply for Ezoic even from day 1, because this company sometimes does some promo campaigns where they allow brand new sites to join this network – even with zero traffic.
That way, you wont have to wait for your blog to reach 10k visitors, since you can get in a bit sooner.
