chapter 445

Sting Like A Bee

the most dangerous animal

A bee sting can change your life in a moment. Just learned that a neighbor died from one simple bee sting (ground hornet).

This most dangerous animal in America kills more people than sharks, bears or snakes. They are everywhere and they probably wont kill you, but maybe sometimes. To Bee or not to Bee that is the question. Shakespeare also pondered the tenuous nature of life with that famous quote.

It's awkward to talk about death but this guy has lived on our street for many decades, was a good guy, only 59, ski instructor, SU architect, and quite healthy otherwise. His wife is a nurse, they got him immediate medical care, EMS, EpiPen, ER but a quick anaphylactic shock and cardiac arrest. This Spring I found his nearly blind old dog quivering out on our road and brought him back to the guy. Dog has passed on as well.

Eat, Drink and Bee Merry, for Tomorrow we may Die:

Seems like good advice? A transition from last week's Tavern Tapestry scene. Created the image at the top by laboriously combining digital slices from my videos of Chapter 425. A lot of dodging and burning with various brush stroking tools. Had a large wall canvas print made up. It should be a pleasant and meaningful surprise for Colleen as they are her dear friends.

Met Melissa and Lucas for a quick lunch in Ballston Spa. Another fleeting moment of a short pretend ride. By coincidence I showed up with a matching shirt ( Ventinox, one of Shawn's earlier jobs). Lucas is a master of eating, drinking and making merry.

Hit Saratoga for my free gym bag and watched one race to record this far turn shot. The winner, "BoomerangToy" on the inside was floating like a butterfly. Jock on the outside delivers a stinger with his whip. The horse in the rear came on down the stretch to finish third beating me out of the trifecta.
