Chapter 241 Garnisonskirche Potsdam

Garnisonkirche

This is the last look you'll have of the Garrison Church in Potsdam outside of Berlin as it was destroyed in WW2. German President Hindenburg welcomed Hitler as the new chancellor there in 1933. After Potsdam was heavily bombed out, the historic 1945 Potsdam Conference between major allies determined the future of Europe and the decision was made to drop nuclear bombs on Japan.

Dad and Uncle Nelson's bomb runs didn't hit any of these targets that I can determine, but POW Nelson did sleep in a Muskau glass factory during the force march escaping the Russians.

Speaking of weapons, I purchased this fine staghorn switchblade for 42 Marks ($14) in Cologne before boarding the Lufthansa 747 back to the states. They say it's legal for fishing.
