I thought it might bring out the Joy of Life for Colleen when we acquired baby Schatzie. Oh yeah, it did.

Young grandgirl Violet really took a liking to sweetie after the initial hesitation. In fact she was almost getting a little bit too engaging at a recent Thanksgiving make-up get together.

Younger brother Bill showed up too, or is he older - I forget. He really wanted nothing to do with the dog but Schatz wouldn't take no for an answer. I think she won him over in the end.

I had dog custody for 6 days when Colleen visited family in Florida. Our first outing was to Usher Road Forest near by which she enjoyed very much.

Taking mucho photos is the only way to get one good picture out of numerous bad shots. She moves so fast, loving it.

Next was Hawkwood Properties, Anchor Diamond. There are so many nature preserves all around.

I'm expecting to do more exploration in to Rensselaer County. Hit the beautiful Barberville Falls Preserve. It's part of the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance which manages many nature properties. About a decade old but evolving.

After visiting the falls for the drone shot, she was super excited. Maybe it was the sound of the rushing water.

We went around the Ridge Trail crossing Davitt Creek a couple times. Luckily we had a bit of sun. This whole month has been overcast they say due to remnants of the atmospheric river (Pineapple Express) weather pattern that hit California.

The last day we climbed up Dickinson Mountain for the Grafton Fire Tower. Able to park at the Grafton Lakes State Park and luckily the snowmobiles had packed down snow along the path. Otherwise it would have been a more arduous effort on show shoes. Schatz like a kid playing in snow.

I like to bring out her wild joyful side off leash. When no one's around no problem. Tie her up when people approach. I think dogs feel good about themselves when they have some freedom.
