written in stone

There will be more and more hysteria about the Mayan Calendar predicting the end of the world Dec 21 this year. I finally obtained this beautiful example of the sometimes called Aztec calendar ever since my Aztec chapter was released. I suspect at the end of the calendar cycle we might just go into the next cycle but if the world does end, the value of my medallion will skyrocket. Mine is a representation of the 12 foot round stone calendar believed to have been carved in the early 1400s. These ancients going back thousands of years did some unbelievable things with astronomy and in constructing their megaliths and temples.

Don't know why but the central head on the calendar is strangely similar to the Greek Gorgon heads  that appear on many ancient coins.

My birthday day-sign is the Quiahuitl, it is found about 1 o'clock on the second ring out from center above the Jaguar's nose. Their calendars were a result of their obsession with astronomy and planetary alignments to predict celestial cycles. This link gives an animated astrological horoscope version where you can input any date you want. My birthday input yielded: a personality of "youthful, helpful, restless, friendly, multi-faceted being drawn to religion or philosophy." That's all wrong of course, because how could ancient Indians know about me.

My icon It is a representation of this rain God Tlaloc  who is beneficial in bringing water but is also feared for his hail, thunder, and lightening aspects. It is synonymous with the word Ome. [Strangely, that's what some friends call me.] Sad to say Ome is also associated with child_sacrifices at Tenochtitlan to bring the much needed rain during drought periods.

The Spanish Conquerors with their Christian missionaries thought the sacrifices were barbaric so they killed most of the people and burned and destroyed most to these evil-doers cultural written history. Only a handful of books exist in museums like this Mayan/Aztec codex.

The beautiful Pyramid of the Sun Temple in the City of Gods at Teotihuacan in Mexico.  Aliens may have laid out this complex. Comparisons to the Great Pyramids at Giza, Egypt and the Orion Correlation Theory need more research.
