Ch 78 Next Bigger Thing                                                            Diesel Trucks

In keeping with the issue of efficient fuel economy, with the side benefit of thwarting terrorism, I’ve extended this coverage to include the economy of BIGGER diesel alternatives. This swap was not car for car but really parts for money. I filled in for a vacationing parts driver. I have no time for a vacation. This Dodge Sprinter High Top 2500 diesel drove nicely down to Oneonta with a dozen Mercedes Benz parts to the Scavo Body Shop. The parts don’t look like much for nearly four grand. Would you pay $1255 for the motor hood in black primer?

The rig handled very nicely with Automatic Trans although I’d prefer to be gear jamming. AC was good but the stereo quality was not up to the standards I’ve become accustomed to. Stopped at Truck Stop to buy a steering wheel spinner for my Ford Ranger at home, but got the feeling they thought I was an undercover trooper looking to bust em for illegal activities. [I did find a spinner in my Virgil garage on a Honda drop off to Calcerinos and Spina Engineers in Syracuse and visited Mom at the Brewster House in Homer.] Probably got 30mpg on the $3/gallon stuff.

Brother Dale disappoints not mentioning the real next big thing by Raytheon: Gesture Technology a la “Minority Report”.
