Ch 130F The Trek Trek                                                  Bicycling thru Nature

The rear view mirror is mandatory to sense undesirables, the handle bar horns are good on hills and to relieve hand fatigue. I prefer the hybrid bike, this one with rapid fire 21speed push button shifters.

Upper RT - I climbed a small rock outcropping to show perspective of the valley (bike barely visible in center). The majority of the ride to Piseco, however, is more forested which provides welcome shade on hot days.

Lower LT- Avery's private Lake Alma which is across the road from the logging operation captured in  Chapter 82 . The estate contains hundreds of acres of forest and lakes.

Lower RT- view from Avery's Place. On last year's Kayak trip, this is the point at which you disappear north (downstream) into the distance and the valley of the shadow of Pine Mt and away from the security of the highway. Fear no evil, though this is the point of no return, because you wont re-emerge with the highway for a few more miles downstream.
