Chapter 97

Ch 97 Didgeridoo                                                           Musical Goalie

This weeks Parade Magazine’s “Life Begins at 60” cover story  http://www.parade.com/  kind of copied my last weeks story on aging  so I had to revisit the “award” photo. Speaking of generations, I failed to mention that our Captain’s father, Henry Nirsberger, Program Manager, Global Technical Services IT, GE Corporate HQ also plays on the team and was seated between Robert Di Nero and the Wookie. The Capt’s brother, Mike Nirsberger, was seated in the rear next to the Gamorrean creature and was our goalie who played the Didgeridoo. Just love saying that word. Also shot the 3 fam members with Henry holding a banner, as team burst through celebrating the win streak. Pretty neat when the generations can play a game together.

Our goalie is also the improvisational jazz guitarist of the Mike Nirsberger Quartet, an instructor at workshops at SUNY Oswego where he received his BA in Music recently, received the 2005 Chancellors Award, scholarship, etc, and has performed with the Binghampton Philharmonic Orchestra.  http://www.oswego.edu/academics/opportunities/artswego/jazzguitar/instructors.html

He is currently getting a business degree at SUNY Albany but I thought he was just a goofy kid. We stretched the win streak to 24 this week, barely, as we were short handed with a third of the team elsewhere (highschool honored their past achievments).

Got hit on the head with a FedEx package falling off the upper conveyor this week, which may explain the composite this week, but I’ve got management’s attention to address some safety issues there at the warehouse.
