Chapter 24 Riding the Range

LandRover Range Rover

Some have doubted the authenticity of my photojournalism so I included a copy of my work as it appeared in the print version of the TU. They didn't include the kids pix. Things could have gotten real ugly. No royally check came yet either. Back to driving.

Hard to understand why company sends an $80,000 Land Rover out with a $8/hour guy. Delivered to a customer near Sodus Bay on beautiful Lake Ontario. (Dave, the navigation system is inadequate.) Nice heated steering wheel & stereo (if you like his Christina Milion and Diane DeGarmo collection). Tried to buy lunch for Aunt Carol- got answering machine.

Kevin [NYSDOH Toxic Substances Assessment] & I ran into a (shy) barmaid that used to serve my basketball team 25 years ago at Mickey's Mousetrap.

Been digging into Uncle Nelson Warren 's WW2 exploits. He flew the famous bomber "Days Pay" from Nebraska to England.

Neat story at this Washington highschool website. http://richlandbombers.com/allbombers/dayspay.html

Appears that Nelson was shot down in "Shady Lady" 10/7/44 near Leipzig & served 6 grueling months at Stalag Luft 3 in Poland and Stalag Luft 7 Mooseburg near Munich before being liberated 4/29/45 by Gen Patton.
