The children are in awe and anticipation as Dad come home with the bacon. Mom dutifully maintaining the home front. It's all about the moment. After feeding, the chicks whine a lot and the Dad leaves the nest.

A followup to the nest building chapter. Got there one late morning when the sun was not too overwhelming.

Turn of the century French artist Leon Caille captures the moment of a "Huntsman Coming Home" .

There is a celebration and ritual upon arrival. The natural composition simply presented itself, captured via telephoto lens and burst mode. A simple hobby but with self satisfying results.

Norman Rockwell's 1948 Christmas Homecoming magazine cover composition also depicts the joy. A central figure hero warmly welcomed by family and admiring children. There is a Youtube video to explain the finer elements that you may feel but just not know why or how to explain it.
