Bridges of Albany County

Highway Engineering phase

my Bridges of Albany County Video

This video is longer than I normally want at 6:45min. But I had to go where the material took me, and it was poignant for me.

During 1968-1972, in my Highway Engineer phase, we supervised and acted as inspectors overseeing contractors who constructed I-90 and I-787 interstate highways in Albany, N.Y. As you buzz thru chatting on your cell, you may be oblivious to what went into creating this infrastructure, so I've tried to capture some of the feeling of this event.

Does it ever seem to you that I have a camera at all times to capture all things?

aside: The survey rodman was called "Gladys" by Gerd, our redneck Hillbilly Engineering Technician from Bern-Knox. The name stuck, and he liked it (Bob Streikos). A  J Geils fan. Red headed John O'Sullivan pulling concrete screed passed away Oct 2013. He worked on all 160 concrete bridge deck pours on the Capitol Interchanges. VW Paul Gallagher, John Martino, J.E.
