Ch 81B Rebuilding the Dams                            Beaver Dams and Pickerel

Good Luck Lake Video now uploaded 8/12/2008

I prepared this subchapter 2 years after the fact when I finally taught myself video editing with my desktop Windows XP Movie Maker. I find this to be a useful and user friendly program.  It is thru this video where this story can finally be told. While the still photography can convey the feeling of stillness and peace, I find now that the moving picture format gives a feeling of motion- kind of a fourth dimension. Kind of like entering the Twilight Zone. Although you still only have width and height, now there is the added dimensions of sound and motion. I'm on to something!

If you are unable to access the video, it demonstrates the task of going upstream over beaver dams as well as downstream. This is nothing extraordinary for you woodsmen, but will be informative for the shut-ins among us. Buddy Pete and I simply paddled our kayaks upstream about a mile on the West Branch Sacandaga River to Good Luck Lake to observe the wild Loons for a very enjoyable outing.
