Chapter 15

Everything for sale for a price

Art of the deal

My car salesman phase was short lived. When my dealership found out my only sale was to a nephew who did not actually buy from me or my dealership, it was time to switch gears, so to speak. Pictured here are two of my last attempts at retail Saturday. My wife liked the Jetta in Silver but could not come up with the downpayment (note the two vehicles for sale in background at neighbors house). My old college roomie & wife appreciated the roominess of the Passat wagon but had something a little more sporty in mind. At least I was able to pedal some hot merchandise off a chopped up motorcycle to him. Swap to Mayer VW Larchmont, NY.

I haven't given up in commodities trading yet. Older brother still has me on retainer as a wholesaler & I go to the auction very Monday looking for the right buying opportunity. Gave a ride to a fellow swapper, Reggie, back to Albany from Life Quality Aidi, Brooklyn Friday in a new Audi A6 so that he could take back another Audi. Reg was from Crown Heights but said the race riots there last year were overblown in the media. He still coifs a large Afro do but says he is leaving the BMW dealer to drive a garbage truck in Florida this summer..
