Chapter 171

Ch 171 Grand Theft Archives                                                                       Indian Giver

Today, an interesting indictment was filed for State worker Dan Lorello, who is charged with grand theft, stealing items from the NYS Archives including FDR & Davey Crocket items and selling them on eBay. You probably wont recall from Ch 123B when I surreptitiously had captured a picture from the NYS Archives of the Onondagan Indians. Above is another one that I had nabbed. I hadn't thought about selling it on ebay, but maybe Dale would be interested. These Indians used to sell these beads, baskets, canoes, and powder horns to the tourists there in Nedrow.

I was back in the State Museum Archives last week copying Court of Appeals legal briefs regarding a Newsweek Magazine case. They made me check my coat in a locker (to prevent theft), show ID, sign in, and get buzzed thru the locked security door in order to access the material. I didn't steal any briefs, I swear. It's the insiders that get all the good stuff.  (Actually, I got permission to photograph after I shot.)
