Ch 205 Murder, Mayhem, Money, Sex, Violence, Shark Attack, etc     retirement blues

It's not easy being retired. Sure everyone thinks I just sit around with the cats looking out the window for what comes to our bird feeder, which I do, but there's also that agonizing monthly wait to check my electronic pension fund transfer into my account. This winter has been particularly bad. I suffered a mild case of CTMCS (carpal tunnel mouse click syndrome).

As I sat having our monthly Friendlys breakfast (senior discount) with my retiree pal Hank, we discussed some of the pathetic misconceptions the general public has regarding retirees as old fogies and dullards. Hank just completed the second coat of paint on his inner closet walls and was really miffed that the Obama stimulus plan would not cover home improvement expenses for retirees. What's up with that! Are we the forgotten generation. Sure Bush would not have remembered why he kept those Arabs in Cuba but he would NEVER have forgotten our about the AARP crowd.

Dipped into some of my facebook buddies accounts to retrieve some photos here. Considered a twitter account since I'm all about dispersing useless information but guess that's more for the iPhonies.

Painted my ceilings this week but got paint in my eyes.

                                                                                              Met Who Wants to be a Millionaire contestant, Kierre Daniels  -- tweet -- a '99 Clarkson Grad and voice of the Golden Knights Hockey there who is now announcing for Union College Hockey. I attended the Clarkson-Union Hockey game with a retiree friend and a Clarkson grad. We attended the invitation only private party at Pinhead Susans where I met Kierre. He works full time for the NYS Senate, whose communication staff competed with my Hockeyplayer video under the Pig Heaven title. The party organizer, Dave Tromp (first place in the 40 floor Corning Tower Stair Climb 2008 [third 3/9/09, 12th 2004 poorly documented ] and has also done the 80 floor  Empire State Bldg and played for my DEC hockey team.
