a public hanging

The whole can be much greater than the sum of it's individual parts. That's why the montage: each quick shot was done by pocket camera with the subjects barely knowing I had a camera. This shotgun approach won't generally yield individual good shots but the intention was to capture unposed, the overall feeling of the hanging for the month display at the library. It's not good practice to shoot the back of people's heads, but I'm trying to give the photographer's point of view. He is usually not seen. He is facing his subjects caring more about how they appear, arranging the composition in his mind's eye to display to others. They are THINKING about what they are seeing; the overall sense and the detail. Mostly they are finding beauty in the world. They say truth is beauty (but I must say, it can also be a lie- ie bad photoshopping).

I hadn't submitted any prints for the show this year so I left the hanging early to get some groceries. All of a sudden in the parking lot this beautiful rainbow appeared over the Hilton Hotel. I couldn't really capture it's immensity but did a reasonable job since I was still with my trusty pocket camera.

Mom always said there was a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, so I followed it down landing at the NBT Bank of Clifton Park. It was past closing hour so I couldn't go inside.

Just for amusement took in Albany Trauma Center match against Baltimore Harm City Havoc. Took this still screenshot from movie mode using a pro photographer's strobes lights for this shot. Background baby girl had ear muff protection on. This is not a montage, but is a good subject for the treatment.
