Building Wild

Dippold Hydraulics

Cory Dippold, cousin of the cabin owner, is interviewed here on this Paddle Wheel Propulsion System video clip. This is part of the "Floating Cabin" episode for Nat Geo's Building Wild TV series. The Cabin Kings construction group from nearby Hoosick Falls builds unique structures for each week's episodes. They are zany and goofy but get the job done pretty well. One half of the duo has designed a house for Ralph Lauren. This cabin is not quite in that same league. However, the cabin will add to their nice family getaway property on remote and woodsy Cranberry Pond in Grafton, NY.

Cory was part of our neighbor street gang growing up with my son and they still have a group of friends circles which overlap. Of course I have a picture, that's the reason for this blog. Kathy took this first day of school awaiting the bus Sept 1985. Cory back row flirting with blonde girl. He was on the varsity swim team, diving I think, and I did see one of his Water Polo matches, pretty intense. Fitting that he ended up as a hydraulic engineer. His Dad still lives down the street and I featured his Vietnam Tiger chapter.
