Ch 153C Olmsted Family Reunion

First Ever Annual Event

The main gathering ceremonies took place at Kathy Olmsted's water hole (dressed in the traditional Samoan toga garb, no not my assistant Kathy Olmsted here studying the mother-infant relationships of the Florida splinter group). Christie Olmsted surprisingly bemused by her Dad's early day's.

Above center, the native Virgilian demonstrates the "Old Ways" of filleting fish by hand and eating them raw.

Below center, tribal elder Marie Olmsted keeps watch over all things. Barb Olmsted, as a true member of the a wandering Rhodie Family [still bearing a striking resemblance to this Narragansett Girl] seemed to be happy just to have been invited.

Jumping into the cement pond seemed to occupy most of the youths' time. On numerous occasions, the tad poles would abruptly exit the pool, do a little shaky dance and practice a curious custom of fertilizing the grass behind the shed. Various unknown animals were sacrificed and cooked over an open flame and aromatic fermented liquids also seemed to also be a part of the traditions. I did not see it myself, but it was reported that some members even ventured off to the ancient tribal burial grounds for a brief ceremony.

In summary, you had to be there.

Tech Lesson: It's good to feel digital. Anyone can print from digital files thru the web. Throw away that buggy whip. Learn to feed yourself for a lifetime; you owe it to your kids. As an example I've created this terryolmstedgroup website at Walmart with a bunch of the reunion photos and some historic ones of Ma and Dad, cousins.

You need to sign in creating your own account, name, password etc. Their site works great, is cheap, fine quality, fast and can print anywhere. They keep your email confidential, but just in case I always use a secondary email name for commercial sites. I have thousands of digital pics but only want to print a few quality shots. Anyone can do effective enhancing editing, but that's another chapter. I've sized the photos for general 4X6 printing, jpg of moderate intensity.
