paper money

Had to own 10 Trillion dollars at least once (my cost $1.69 delivered). There is a reason why they call it "third world". This used to be Southern Rhodesia and I still love the spears on my 1935 three pence, perhaps you remember- ha, ha !

Picked up these 100,000 Marks from Germany. Seems like a lot of money but this bill is from Berlin 1923 when hyperinflation had hit the country due to economic instability following their WW 1 problems. A significant reason why Hitler was able to gain such a following in the Munich Beer Hall putsch commemorated in my WHW. Portrait on this bill is of the merchant prince, George Giese.

Have had this 1920 German notgeld (emergency money) 25 pfennig paper note since a teenager. It's only 2 inches long and produced at the end of World War 1 when the economy was shattered in Germany. This is from the city of Dortmund in the Hörde district showing a steel worker. Mostly I remember drinking Dortmunder Beer in the German section of Syracuse during college.
