chapter 440

Hats Off

the beautiful people

First day of races at Saratoga so we stopped by to view my photo club friend Tina Baxter's photo art work purchased by the just opened $40 million  Saratoga Casino Hotel.   Topaz photo software is her favorite way of massaging her work but she also does original acrylics

Tina is also a "pilot" of this very cool Chroma ST-10 camera drone . With limited flight hours she's just getting the hang of it, but I think there are endless possibilities for photo ops. More to come.

There is an annual Hats Off to Saratoga celebration at downtown Broadway. It's all free (my kind of celebration) with music on every corner. You'll see a lot of the beautiful people come out in a festive mood. I'm thinking South Hampton, Long Island. If you live in the Capital District is not to be missed. But of course if you ask any Capital District citizens most will say they never have gone. NIMBY syndrome.

On a bike training run into Schenectady, I zoomed in to this scene of welders fabricating one of the Rivers Casino complex buildings. Perhaps you are noticing my gambling theme to this week's chapter. Life is a chance.

Flash Back

40 years ago my wife shot this photo of me on the roof of a department store in Munich. As foreign tourists we spent the good part of a day in the city and I bought some wooden plates for $2 each that we used for decades. Failed to Google locate this specific spot of these Gothic and Russian Orthodox steeples in the background. Had wondered if it was the site of this week's rage killing of shoppers there but guess not. I do remember the police or military patrolling the Frankfurt Airport with machine guns. That to my recollection was always common in Europe.

2 years ago my Chapter 361 investigation confirmed that psychic Theresa was legit. The main character, Chris, called me this week after reading my story. He enjoyed it, validated it, and offered a couple minor changes.

1 week ago old Virgil farmer friend from the 1960's, Jerry Powers, Facebook friended me.
