An ignominious capture with my new camera of pal Pete, the recently promoted to inspector or Trails Chair for DEC Reg 4 in the NY-NJ Trail Conference. He's covered by insurance under the death and dismemberment clause but I'm on my own. The trail was a classic arduous (seemingly) straight up ascent from Devils Tombstone Notch for 1800 ft. Mostly rock & boulder step-type terrain with this little vertical notch thrown in for fun. Another 4 hr - 5 mi great hike and view along the Plateau Mt segment of Devil's Path in the Catskill Mountain forever wild forest preserve.

I could not stop taking pictures of this beautiful mountain range. It's actually a better and breath taking view from the the ground along the Platte Clove Rd. As the cumulus clouds rolled by they created an ever changing background landscape. Sometimes one mountain highlighted with brilliant color, sometimes shaded with the distant mountains more prominent. Stunning. Would love to have the view every day that some of these residents have.

Shot this pic at sundown from Melrose (Albany) where Tony lives. It demonstrates some of the capabilities of the new cam. Couldn't have captured like this previously. Wanted a pic of Indian Head for ch 224. Turns out it is 57 miles distant in this shot just over the Empire State Plaza on left. Google Earth tools confirmed the location and alignment. The Blackhead Mountain range is the prominent one center right. Similar in appearance to the Devil's Path range and in elevation, but sits closer to the camera. Windham on the right.

Captured a few toxic particulates from the twin incinerators of the Norlite Facility in Cohoes.

Just a couple years ago I was serving summons to the NYS Health Dept in this (Corning tower), Banking Dept (Alfred E Smith Bldg), and Insurance Dept (One Commerce Place). Indian Head Mt above.
