Dog's World

Dachshund schmacksund

It's a well understood fact that it's a dog's world. Freyja was a refugee adoptee from Colleen's daughter's college sorority days. She is a smooth skinned miniature. They say Dachshunds (national dog of Germany) are untrainable. They resist being trained to do even the things they like to do. Quite German, quite stubborn. This theme came to me as I looked back two years ago to a chapter that included the link to 29 pictures of dogs looking out a car window. It was a challenge, shot 300 and this was the only one close to what I wanted. I challenge my peeps to try it. Very doubtful.

Finally had the most caffeinated coffee in the world in Saratoga at the Saratoga Traders coffee shop owned by the owners of Death Wish Coffee.

A quaint little shop with just a few tables in front and a few in the back. They serve sandwiches and light breakfast fare. We opted for the most delicious moist blueberry and corn muffins we ever had. [some say I talk like European tourist guide Rick Steves. I rather think not, but if you want to get off the beaten tourist path in Saratoga - try this cafe in summer when you can lounge at their street side cafe tables and do some tourist watching.]

They said this shop's business has quadrupled since their Superbowl commercial and their company's overall sales probably increased many fold over that.

We have been exploring the Mohawk River State Park here in Niskayuna. It is a hidden gem of the Capital District that few people know about , or care. Too bad because it is quite spectacular. Actually I hope it stays unknown. Side note: I skirted that distant tree on the right, more dangerous side, because I wanted my stronger right leg on the downhill side for support. Yes, I might fall, but I have a Nurse on duty.

This ridge opened up to a small plateau overlooking the deep gorge where a Shaker Creek trib has eroded away the soft sand over the years.

I use my partner as a model to give perspective and a sense of feeling to the scenes. So far she has not objected, but one can only hope we do not go over the border line of safety.
