While the Porsche 918 RSR has gone green by keeping it's carbon footprint small it still has enough power (767 HP) to get up a hill without grunting. Detailed Factory info. Our Saratoga Museum had a little wine and hors d'oeuvre opening night party which paid homage to this planet saving vessel. There is a nasty looking electric flywheel in the passengers seat but the car will fly around any corner as if on rails, You could say it's the ultimate driving machine.

I took this shot at the Watkins Glen US Road Racing Championships on Jun 26, 1966. It shows the new Shelby Cobra leading the Porsche 906 along with various other makes (and lack of Armco barrier).  Joe Buzzetta drove one of the Porsche 906's and he and his car were honored in our Museum Exhibit this weekend. I tested Joe's memory on why he did not finish this race and he was able to recall a little smack up involving Mark Donohue's Lola. He still races the car from his Long Island dealerships.
