Chapter 206

Ch 206 It's a Dog's life                                                                               the simple things

Sometimes it's the simple things in life that are rewarding. In case the last chapter was too much for some to cope with I offer this little respite. My kids both have pet dogs to contend with and we get to babysit them from time to time. It's a nice change of pace for us to help rear and guide these creatures into adulthood. It's also nice when it's time for them to go too that we don't have the full time responsibility of childcare, I mean dog care.

Uma on the left is the adorable and friendly Pug. She will whine though as soon as Christie leaves the room. Misha the Black Lab is a sweet girl that loves to ride in my truck looking out the front window then take a walk down by the river.

My only question is, "Why isn't there another King in the family", when we had such a tradition of the German shorthaired pointers? Maybe Scott... someday!

Misha's Wonderful Adventure

Had a wonderful sunny 60's afternoon bonding episode with Misha. Started with the pickup truck ride to Saratoga Spa State Park with a 2 1/2 mile jaunt thru the dog friendly trails meeting many unleashed and sometimes too friendly dogs of all makes. Went through the Championship Golf Course by the world class Gideon Putnam Resort on the way to the Saratoga Auto Museum. Wanted the staff to come outside to meet her her but Fran invited her inside where she tried to climb up on the counter and then wanted to pull me into the main floor. Wouldn't do to have dog scratches on the priceless cars so we didn't stay long. Walked back by the mineral springs, on the par 3 course greens and fairways down the Avenue of tall Pines to a path by the Lincoln Mineral water Baths. Then by the National Museum of Dance where workers were outside working on some exhibits and back to Crescent Road. Stopped at Stewarts for their empty cup so I could give Mish some now welcome ice water from my bottle. The journey wouldn't be complete without a stop by Uncommon Grounds coffee shop on Broadway for turkey on sesame bagel, and a chance meeting with old hockey chum (17yrs back), Tom Dimopoulous, now a reporter for the Glens Falls Post Star who I last spoke with at the winners circle at Saratoga Thoroughbred Race Track. He has been covering a story involving our mutual friend, Bill Mirabile. It was then on past the Mansions Row,  figuring Mish would want to smell the horses working out on the racetrack as we headed back home.
