Ch 207R Homecoming Football

it's not about the game Minn 23- SU 20

They said we couldn't go home again after 40 years apart. They were right, and they were wrong. The weather was beautiful, the vibe was beautiful, the game was beautiful. Did I mention the vibe was beautiful, as in good vibrations.

Pete and Buzz merged immediately at the site of our old house. We all joined in with the pre-game tailgate party that was happnin at our old home. It was like the love-in of the 60's but with a rock band and a car dealer there handing out free pens (which I picked up). Buz re-enacted his University Chancellor Tolley protest for posterity before we trundled up to the campus for a lively rally on the quad in front of Hendricks Chapel.

In cold statistics the game was just another loss in a long line of recent years losses. But it was all POSITIVE for SU. A nationally televised well played energetic emotional last minute loss in overtime to a Big Ten Bowl game winner in front of a near capacity crowd. But we really didn't go for the game. We went to reconnect, and it was just like old times. How can that be? In olden days of '65 frosh required beanies.

Dinner of Falafel and babaganouge at King David's on Marshall Street and picking up an unnecessary souvenir license plate holder as we parted our ways, but I think we'll see each other again.

Thanks to Buz (I'm Roland to people who don't really know me) for the internet navigated home printed tickets, barcode scanned for Dome entry. Trying to get him to dig up his roots?
