Terry's Journey in Retirement

Chapter 619

Last of the Vegas

end of an era, beginning of new

Took a last ride on my Victory motorcycle up to the Lake George Americade rally. Didn't know it would be my last until I got home and a guy bought it from my advertisements. That Vegas model was the best bike I ever owned. Why sell? Why not, reward myself with a new Indian Scout (or used will be good enough- I typically cheap out).

Drone so compact, easy to transport via saddle bags or back pack.

Just call me "Indian Terry" from now on like the legend Indian Larry. I've done many demo rides on the Indians and know I will enjoy the nimble easy handling mid size model.

Launched from the Battlefield grounds to let it hover and capture video of us riding thru in front of the row of bikes and lake background. It worked but didn't use that image (didn't make the cut) and preferred this higher up version.

Thousands come each year to the event. It's a nice vibe and try to hit it when weather is good. It was a super windy day and that made riding a quite difficult and taxing.

We hung out near DJ's and the Lobster Pot for a while taking in the sights and sounds.

We moseyed up and down Main Street for kicks.

There is an endless array of beautiful bikes around, if you are into that sort of thing. It's hard for me to not admire the craftsmanship and variety although I'm basically just a "stock no frills" sort of guy. For me, it's the journey - the ride that's important. Just about always take the back scenic slow roads for enjoyment. Not really into the display, show bike mentality although I do like my bike to be clean.

So I just decided to buy this 2015 Indian Scout Silver Smoke with less than 1000 miles from a guy in Keene, NH. The deal is pending his getting the Title, should be compete within a few weeks.
