When the Albany Co DA, David Soares (center) made national headlines breaking this national drug scandal story wide open you had to be wondering, "Was Terry somehow involved." Yes, I was. The big $30 Million + a year steroid drug bust and news conference from Orlando, Florida implicated the former beauty pageant contestant Dr Claire Godfrey (left), Mr Olympia, Heavyweight champ Holyfield, celebrities, baseball and football players and the Pittsburgh Steeler Dr Rydze of 20 yrs (Ch 29) and a homeless alcoholic NY doctor (Ana Santi) whose license had been previously revoked. The DOH narcs had set up an internet sting at 112 State Street to lure in the perps. Kevin and I invited ourselves in and had partied away (albeit profesionally) at 112 State Street a short while earlier at the Law Offices of a certain Judge there. Coincidence? Not only did I physically handle so many of these drug shipments at Fed Ex, I obtained the indictments for the Loomis's and the others charged by the grand jury last week. Much much more will be forthcoming.
When I went to the DA's office on the 4th floor of the County Justice Bldg/Supreme Court (Ch128B) to retrieve this public information, he was out but I met with his Public Information Officer, Heather Orth, who was very accommodating. The petite and attractive 20 something young professional was fashionably well dressed and very personable. This, in contrast to the old gray haired curmudgeon "retired police sergeant type" in the worn plaid flannel shirt behind the bullet proof glass who first received me in the waiting room. The conference room was abuzz. As I waited, I was struck by the foot high lettering in gold sparkles on the wall naming and leaving no doubt that David Soares was the man in charge. The man born in Africa who attended college 15 miles from Virgil and once live in Pawtucket, now was working with RI undercover agents.
Why do I retrieve these documents? I can't say. The press has also reported that MLB and the NFL had representatives at the DA's office.
Violations of the Public Health , the Education Law, and the Penal Laws are alleged. The crux of the issue seems to be the felony violation for a NY Doctor who prescribes controlled substances to individuals who he has not personally met face to face. On a side note, I MAY have committed a felony this week for the narcotics that I took? Am having some reoccurring back/leg problems and got into some codeine, hydrocodone, and other controlled substances that I had hanging around for a decade since my last surgery. I have also requested some cortizone steroids for my leg, half testing my primary Doc, but he referred to an orthopedist.
Have expanded my undercover work into Albany City Criminal Court, Troy and Schenectady County court buildings lately as well as perusing and retrieving legal filings from the federal bankruptcy court (ie Ellenville Community Hospital case) filed at the Northern District Court (Ch108). Their security staff now smilingly wave me thru the metal detectors with ease.
In sporting news we won the hockey championship going undefeated even though I was outplayed by a guy with no hands (hockey chapter).
