Stonebridge

As a change of pace I've decided to scrap my interest in ancient metal and classic cars to enter a dirt excavation phase. This compact car above cannot stop the progress of the earth mover operated by Donny Nusbaum, a friend/excavation professional. He hired me (or I volunteered?) to do a photo shoot at this 200 unit Stonebridge housing development at Ballston Lake. The adjacent Chapel Hill development was the concept of Traditional Builders whose president is Joe Lucarelli , a family member of Shawn's freshman football teammate, Brian Lucarelli.

I captured this unidentified object in the sky which  I later found out was communicating with the Russkie spies, a 24 satellite constellation GLONASS 20,000 miles up then back down to Donny's dozer controlling grading by autopilot to within 1.2 inches.

GLONASS

This unit combined with the dozer monitors allow for blade alignment pushing the dirt around via radio frequency, GIS, GPS, a digital terrain model in 3D to achieve correct as built elevations effortlessly, kind of like artificial intelligence. Dirt has gone Digital. Although his neck be red, this is not a red neck construction worker; this is not a smart dozer. It basically makes all the stuff in my survey chapter obsolete. Microchips and the space program have been a game changer.

All this is a bore for the casual viewer, but I gotta say the tree harvester is also awesome, and the the wood handling is major league compared to my earlier chapter of the olden days of Dads sawmill.

National success story with couple of my shots here.
