Ch 74 Pokamoonshine                                                          Adirondack Mountain                                 

 

Quick 5 minute stop on the shoulder with the point and shoot through the window between raindrops caught nice landscape. Another point of view here

 

Usually I will avoid the interstates if I have a choice but the Northway I-87 up North is enjoyable being one of the Nations most scenic highways. This example was 20 miles below the Plattsburg Honda store taken on a wet day after the Northway was closed for flood damage in Bolton. The couple on route 9 is apparently in awe of the talus, the rock face, or maybe a bear in the tree just past the yellow curve sign? It is Pokey, or Pok-o-moonshine Mountain elevation 2127 feet far less than the other 46 peaks over 4000 feet in the ADK. Buddy Pete climbed 39 Catskill Mts but don’t think he could do this 1000 feet rock cliff in Essex County Town of Chesterfield.
