Mom
das ist gut
Mom passed away (obit) but she'd not want us to dwell on the negative. Das ist gut was a favorite saying of hers especially toward the end for some reason. Probably some of her first words. It comes from her German background meaning "it is good" and it really kind of summed up her life and her attitude toward life. She always saw the good in things and I like to think that some of trait rubbed off onto all those who she knew.Â
Sis sent me this from a scan of an 8mm movie. I may have used it before, but re-edited this time. At any rate this captures the joy of the moment. A snow ball fight on top of I think the South Cortland hill. April 11, 1956 Easter with Aunt Carol center, Dad and Uncle Nelson filming. Love it
At the funeral service I like what cuz Deacon Rob said about Mom, that she will always be with us. She will be the wind in the leaves or the glint off the snow. When you see such a sight, remember to think good. Das ist gut.
